2011: The Plan

This year's challenge will be on Sunday Dec 11th. I spent a bunch of time thinking about how to build a tree climbing robot. But I don't see that coming together this year, so here's what I'm going to try.

Plan A: Use giant slingshot to precision-launch a tennis ball into the top of the tree. Tennis ball is threaded with fishing line. Let it drop and use it to hoist awesome things. Supplies: fishing line, rod and reel, tennis ball, giant slingshot.

Plan B: Same as plan A but cast the ball up using the fishing rod. I think this will fail hard.

Plan C: Same as plan A but launch with tennis racquet like last year, but better.
